“Exactly how does your technology reduce the cost of braces?” – Christina C.

Fastbraces technology allows the doctor to straighten the roots of teeth from the beginning of treatment instead of later stages of treatment.  When the root is upright, then the tooth is straight.  So if this can be done in a year instead of two, then you have less visits to the doctor’s office.  Less visits means less money!  To give you another example, someone who goes to the hospital for one night instead of two pays for one overnight stay instead of two..it’s that simple.  The less the visits, the less the cost to the patient!  Of course, there’s always exceptions to everything, right?..but for the majority of patients that’s how simple it is.  Another reason Fastbraces technology reduces the cost of braces to the consumer is because it is very simple for a doctor to learn and incorporate it in his/her practice with great results even if he/she is not a specialist, that is an orthodontist.  In other words, if you can get straight teeth from your dentist and you didn’t have to be referred to a specialist, then braces may cost you less!  Fees at Fastbraces are typically about half the national average, isn’t that awesome!  I mean, it’s the same with computers.  Years ago you had to be a computer specialist to operate a computer and only big businesses could afford them.  Now, our smart phones are computers!  I’m typing using an iPad…God bless Steve Jobs!

Conventional BracesFASTBRACES®divergent roots

The triangular braces used at Fastbraces® aim to upright the root of the tooth from the beginning of the treatment. If the root is upright, then the tooth becomes straight. In order to do this, a big enough square wire is needed to be inserted in the braces in order to torque and upright the root. The conventional braces are typically square in shape and don’t provide for enough room between them (figure 1). If the square braces are replaced with triangular ones, the distance between the braces doubles (figure 2). By doubling the distance, the flexibility of the square wire increases eight times (23 = 8) Therefore, at Fastbraces® we are able to engage a square wire comfortably and easily between the braces in order to upright the root from the beginning of the treatment and complete treatment in about a year or as little as 3 months in some cases.
