Dr. Anthony Viazis (pronounced vee-ah-zee) publishes his first scientific article on bonding of orthodontic brackets. He later enters the University of Minnesota Graduate Orthodontic Residency Program and specializes in orthodontics. He joins the faculty of the University of Minnesota as Assistant Professor where he earns the "Teacher of the Year" award, and then moves to Dallas, Texas to join the faculty at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Viazis begins work on a new type of orthodontic bracket in his private practice where he treats the first patients.
